Job Summary
Part-time IB-aligned High School Computer Science teacher delivering an IB curriculum to 11th- and 12th-grade students within a Montessori-based program. Responsibilities include teaching CS concepts, developing an integrated curriculum (theory with practical applications such as programming, data structures, systems, and computational thinking), differentiating instruction, assessing student progress, and mentoring. Leads a weekly Robotics Club (approximately 2 hours/week), guides student design and programming of robotic systems, and supports participation in competitions or exhibitions. Collaborates across disciplines, participates in meetings and professional development, and engages with community partners to enhance student learning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience teaching high school students, preferably in an IB or project-based learning environment
- Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar)
- Experience with robotics platforms (e.g., VEX, LEGO, Arduino, or similar) preferred
- Commitment to the Montessori philosophy or willingness to learn and implement it
- Ability to create an engaging, student-centered learning environment
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching
