Job Summary
The College & Career Match Counselor will build trusting relationships with 12th-grade students and families, guiding students through college and career planning, financial aid processes, and applicable programs. Responsibilities include 1:1 check-ins (2-3 per quarter) for a caseload of ~80 students, helping students apply to college or career programs, preparing letters of recommendations (60-70 per student), facilitating financial aid and scholarship applications, coordinating Family/Student programming and College & Career events, and providing feedback on applications and writing. The role requires expertise in counseling practices, data-management of student progress, and strong communication and organizational skills. The counselor will support students’ transition to post-secondary pathways, oversee application steps, and collaborate with teachers and families to ensure student success, including arranging workshops on financial aid, college options, and program opportunities. Key abilities include relationship-building with students and families, data analysis for actionable insights, and comfort with evenings and weekend work.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel)
- Experience with database management and reporting (e.g., Salesforce, Overgrad)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
