Job Summary
Teach a curriculum across Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences with emphasis on AP and college-ready coursework. Facilitate student-led discourse, lab work, and project-based performance tasks; develop students’ questioning, modeling, data analysis, argumentation, and communication skills; differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners; collaborate with the Science department to set academic and engagement goals; meet weekly with leadership to analyze student work trends; build positive relationships with students and families; participate in weekly school-wide meetings and ongoing professional development; support a culture of inquiry and scientific discourse to prepare students to excel in STEM disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- A demonstrated commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development
- An enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners in the best interest of students
- A self-directed learner who solicits and implements feedback to improve outcomes and achieve objectives
- Required Experience: 1-2 years preferred
- Academic expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related fields of study
- Prior to the start of employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Certification eligibility in the state of New York; must enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain a GPA of 2.75 or higher if not holding an education degree; must become certified in New York within a reasonable period after beginning employment
