Job Summary
Teach a high school science curriculum including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science with AP-ready content; use inquiry-based learning, student discourse, and lab/project-based tasks to build scientific understanding; differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners; collaborate with the Science department and families; analyze student work trends with administrators/coaches and participate in weekly professional development and school-wide meetings to support student achievement and engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Meets NY state certification eligibility requirements
- Certification not required to be hired but must meet NY state certification eligibility
- Enroll in a teacher preparation program if you do not have a degree in education
- Must become certified in New York state within a reasonable period after beginning employment
- 1-2 years of experience in education preferred
