Job Summary
Instruct assigned biology classes in grades 9-12 at designated times and locations while planning programs that meet individual student needs. Create a conducive classroom environment, prepare lessons with written evidence, and employ varied instructional techniques to achieve curriculum goals. Assess student progress regularly, maintain accurate records, and enforce classroom behavior standards in alignment with district policies. Provide education-related support to students and parents outside the instructional day as requested. Supervise instructional teacher aides and volunteers, attend staff meetings, and maintain professional competence.
Required Qualifications
- Kentucky teaching certificate in Biology grades 9-12
- College or university letter of acceptance for an alternative route to certification for Biology grades 9-12
- Letter of explanation for new graduates who do not have a teaching certificate
- Description of certification in the letter of explanation
- Graduation date in the letter of explanation
- University name in the letter of explanation
- Status with regard to obtaining teacher certification in the letter of explanation
- Bachelor's Degree in field of assignment
- Valid Kentucky Teaching Certification for area and grade level of assignment
