Job Summary
Teach Biology and Chemistry aligned to Colorado Academic Standards, covering topics from cellular systems to thermochemistry. Design engaging lessons and laboratory experiences that develop scientific thinking through hands-on investigations, data analysis, and evidence-based conclusions. Conduct safe laboratory activities while instructing safety protocols, measurement, graphing, and scientific writing. Deliver instruction using direct methods and gradual release, monitor student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and interventions. Maintain a safe, organized science laboratory environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Colorado Teaching License with a Secondary Science endorsement
- 36 semester credit hours in Biology, Chemistry, or Science
- Passing score on the appropriate PRAXIS Science content exam
- Ability to safely conduct laboratory investigations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous secondary teaching experience
- Experience with laboratory instruction
- Familiarity with Teach Like A Champion, direct instruction, or structured instructional models
