Job Summary
Founding Head Coach for Track & Field/Cross Country and multiple spring sport coaching roles at Camden Prep athletics program. Responsibilities include coaching across multiple sports and fitness activities, fostering a high-energy, inclusive environment, building confident student-athletes, upholding eligibility standards for athletes, and supporting program-building and team culture. Candidates should have 2–3 years of coaching experience at the high school or youth level, strong volleyball knowledge, a commitment to urban-school settings, and willingness to obtain required safety certifications (CPR/First Aid, NFHS, NJSIAA). Certifications, background checks, and state-m mandated safety requirements must be completed within the stated timeframes. Compensation is stipend-based for spring and founding head coach roles, with opportunities tied to program needs and equity-focused school culture.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of coaching experience, preferably at the high school or youth level
- Strong foundational knowledge of volleyball techniques, training methods, and game strategy
- Demonstrated commitment to working with high school students, particularly in urban school settings
- Interest in program-building and fostering a positive, cohesive team culture
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, NFHS, NJSIAA)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- NJSIAA Coaching Requirements (Basic)
- All head coaches must complete NJSIAA-mandated safety certifications (Concussion, Heat Illness, CPR, First Aid).
- Coaches must: uphold and enforce all eligibility standards for student-athletes.
- complete a criminal background check and fingerprinting as per state law.
- comply with all NJSIAA coaching requirements within the required timeframe (often within 1 year of hire).
