Job Summary
Conduct high-energy, inclusive athletics programming across multiple sports and fitness activities to build confident, disciplined student-athletes. Uphold and enforce all eligibility standards for student-athletes while fostering a positive, cohesive team culture that emphasizes character, respect, and accountability. Complete required safety certifications including CPR, First Aid, Concussion, and Heat Illness training within the mandated timeframe. This role supports varsity players and first-time participants within a fast-paced, culturally responsive program dedicated to closing the college completion gap. Coaches will work in an urban school setting with a diverse staff, reflecting the communities we serve.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 23 years of coaching experience, preferably at the high school or youth level
- Strong foundational knowledge of volleyball techniques, training methods, and game strategy
- Demonstrated commitment to working with high school students, particularly in urban school settings
- High school diploma required
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, NFHS, NJSIAA)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

- complete a criminal background check and fingerprinting as per state law
- comply with all NJSIAA coaching requirements within the required timeframe (often within 1 year of hire)
