Job Summary
Lead track and field or cross country coaching, manage boys' tennis or volleyball programs, and oversee first-time participants across multiple sports and fitness activities. Enforce eligibility standards, complete required safety certifications including CPR and First Aid, and maintain criminal background checks per state law. Build cohesive team cultures while fostering character, respect, and accountability among student-athletes. Requires 23 years of high school or youth coaching experience, strong volleyball strategy knowledge, and NJSIAA compliance within one year of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 23 years of coaching experience, preferably at the high school or youth level
- Strong foundational knowledge of volleyball techniques, training methods, and game strategy
- Demonstrated commitment to working with high school students, particularly in urban school settings
- High school diploma required
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, NFHS, NJSIAA)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- uphold and enforce all eligibility standards for student-athletes
- complete a criminal background check and fingerprinting as per state law
- comply with all NJSIAA coaching requirements within the required timeframe (often within 1 year of hire)
