Job Summary
Conduct daily track and field and cross country training sessions, manage varsity and first-time participant teams, and enforce eligibility standards. Uphold all NJSIAA coaching requirements, including obtaining mandatory safety certifications for concussion, heat illness, CPR, and first aid. Complete criminal background checks and fingerprinting as required by state law. Foster a positive, cohesive team culture through high-energy, inclusive programming that emphasizes character, respect, and accountability. Work within a nonprofit network dedicated to closing the college completion gap in economically disadvantaged communities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 23 years of coaching experience, preferably at the high school or youth level
- Strong foundational knowledge of volleyball techniques, training methods, and game strategy
- Demonstrated commitment to working with high school students, particularly in urban school settings
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, NFHS, NJSIAA)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma
