Job Summary
Conduct high-energy, inclusive programming across multiple sports and fitness activities, building confident, disciplined student-athletes while fostering a positive, cohesive team culture. Uphold and enforce all eligibility standards for student-athletes, ensuring compliance with NJSIAA coaching requirements within the required timeframe. Complete mandatory safety certifications including Concussion, Heat Illness, CPR, and First Aid, and pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting as per state law. Demonstrate strong foundational knowledge of volleyball techniques, training methods, and game strategy while supporting both varsity players and first-time participants. Maintain excellent communication and organizational skills to support the school's mission of closing the college completion gap in economically disadvantaged communities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 23 years of coaching experience, preferably at the high school or youth level
- Strong foundational knowledge of volleyball techniques, training methods, and game strategy
- Demonstrated commitment to working with high school students, particularly in urban school settings
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, NFHS, NJSIAA)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma
