High School Athletics Coach (Berlin)

Job Summary
Conduct daily practices, game management, and conditioning drills for track, field, cross country, tennis, and volleyball teams while enforcing eligibility standards and safety protocols. Lead team-building initiatives to foster character, respect, and accountability across varsity and first-time participants. Complete mandatory NJSIAA certifications including CPR, First Aid, concussion management, and heat illness training within the required timeframe. Uphold all state laws regarding criminal background checks and fingerprinting. Maintain organizational records and communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration in an urban high school setting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 23 years of coaching experience, preferably at the high school or youth level
- Strong foundational knowledge of volleyball techniques, training methods, and game strategy
- Demonstrated commitment to working with high school students, particularly in urban school settings
- High school diploma required
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, NFHS, NJSIAA)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

- comply with all NJSIAA coaching requirements within the required timeframe (often within 1 year of hire)
