Job Summary
Lead Sherwood High School's athletic program under the principal's direction, overseeing policy interpretation and implementation for interscholastic athletics, while supporting school culture and student management. Serve as a resource to staff and parents, mentor coaches, plan sport-season schedules with the coach, arrange transportation for teams, supervise and evaluate coaches not covered by SEA, and maintain records. Foster leadership and culture development, ensure adherence to ethics and OSAA regulations, collaborate with administrators to promote positive student behavior, and participate in SHS Leadership Team.
Required Qualifications
- A current Oregon teaching license
- Five years of teaching experience, with increasing levels of responsibilities in a school setting
- Knowledge of adolescents
- Knowledge of attendance and discipline procedures, building and school policies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of schools, teachers and students
- Effective communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make independent judgments.
- Ability to develop relationships with others by listening, understanding and reserving judgment
- Knowledge of OSAA requirements and procedures.
