Job Summary
Assist the Site Coordinator as the second point of contact for parents and administrators while overseeing student safety and well-being during after-school activities. Establish rules and expectations to promote positive behavior, coordinate indoor and outdoor enrichment activities, and create unique clubs for students. Facilitate sign-up procedures for accurate attendance tracking, organize homework help and recreational games, and address challenging behavior constructively. Attend trainings to stay updated on childcare best practices and safety protocols. This part-time, non-exempt role reports to the Site Coordinator and involves working across diverse communities in Southern California.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities
- College transcripts that show you have 48+ college credit units completed OR you take and pass an academic proficiency exam
- TB test (and provide proof that it is negative)
- Live Scan background check
- Reliably commute before starting work
