High School Assistant Play Director

Job Summary
Assist the Play Director with auditions, casting, rehearsals, and performances by supporting students with character development, memorization, blocking, and performance skills. Maintain a positive, organized rehearsal environment while managing costumes, props, scenery, set changes, makeup, and backstage technical responsibilities. Supervise students throughout rehearsals and performances, attending all scheduled activities and communicating effectively with students, staff, parents, and other production individuals. Perform other duties related to the high school play as assigned. This extracurricular/seasonal role requires evening and occasional weekend commitments based on the production calendar.
Required Qualifications
- Must be dependable
- Must be available for scheduled rehearsals and performances
- Must meet all Southeast Valley CSD requirements for extracurricular personnel
Desired Qualifications
- Previous theatre, drama, performing arts, or related experience preferred
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Play Director
- Ability to positively motivate and supervise students
