Job Summary
High School Wrestling Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in daily practice execution, game-day logistics, and athlete development for grades 9-12; ensures compliance with NJSIAA and NJDOE rules; oversees safety, uniforms, fundraising, team travel, and attendance at leagues/conferences; performs off-season conditioning and youth clinic outreach; requires CPR/AED, First Aid, and NFHS/NJSIAA training, and DOE credentials to coach in public schools; stipend-based role with non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- CPR/AED and Basic First Aid Certification (hands-on skills)
- DOE-approved certification
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
- NFHS Training Requirements (Concussion, Heat Illness Prevention, Sudden Cardiac Arrest)
- NFHS Implicit Bias Course
- BeNice Program
- DOE Certification (NJ Teaching Certification or NJ Instructional Substitute Credential)
