Job Summary
Art Teacher at Kairos Academies responsible for delivering a rigorous, standards-aligned art curriculum across multiple media and techniques (drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art). Lead exhibitions/showcases (at least two per year), coordinate student participation in community projects and external competitions, and collaborate across disciplines with English, Music, Theatre, and College & Career. Differentiate for EL and neurodiverse learners; embed data-driven goals, SEL strategies, and restorative practices in every lesson. Utilize formative and summative assessments, provide timely feedback, manage a classroom of up to 25 students, and oversee inventory, safety of art supplies, and budget requests. Engage in whole-school leadership, mentoring, and family/community engagement; participate in PLCs and ongoing professional development. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:40 AM–3:30 PM; on-site role at Kairos Academies in St. Louis, MO.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Art or related field
- Valid Missouri content related teaching certification (or willingness to certify ASAP)
- Experience: 3+ years of high school teaching preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, student information systems, and digital platforms
- Commitment to school safety protocols and emergency procedures
