Job Summary
Assist coaches in promoting sports within the school and community while organizing and supervising practices. Teach individual fundamental skills, team strategies, rules, and regulations, and foster good sportsmanship and self-control. Conduct learning experiences with small groups of student athletes and provide emotional support, patience, and guidance. Check participant eligibility, including insurance coverage and parent consent, and escort athletes during team travel. Read and apply rules, policies, and procedures under the direction of head coaches.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Fundamentals of various sports
- Health and safety regulations
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
- Ability to assist coaches on one or more sports
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Successful completion of a criminal records check
- Required training in first aid
- Required training in CPR
