Job Summary
Support the instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing and synchronous instruction, while completing all grading and conducting parent conferences. Communicate regularly with parents, students, and staff to develop Personal Learning Plans, provide feedback, and coach special projects. Develop detailed knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and grades, then devise virtual methods to maintain a school community. Proctor benchmark and diagnostic tests as needed, administer state testing, and keep student records and attendance data up-to-date. Consult with learning specialists to create alternate enrichment activities and modifications. Assist students with daily assignments and projects, attend field trips, and work remotely with occasional travel for in-person meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Highly qualified and certified to teach grades 9-12 in Kansas
- Current teaching license from another state (if applicable, provided they can transfer or obtain a Kansas teaching license upon hire)
- Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Highly organized and punctual
- Student and family focused approach
- High degree of flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment
- Team player track record
- Strong interpersonal skills which include the ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work remotely, while traveling occasionally for in-person meetings and testing
- Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Kansas teachers with any 9-12 electives endorsements or licensing
- Preferred licensure areas include the following: media design, communications, family and consumer science, home economics, technology, and other related STEM/CTE fields
