Job Summary
Lead and oversee a large multidisciplinary organization responsible for operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement of high-power laser, diagnostic, pulsed power, and alignment systems for the world’s largest laser facility. Drive safe operations, system performance, reliability, and readiness to meet experimental schedules and increasing shot rate demands; provide technical leadership, strategic direction, workforce planning, and resource management to sustain and enhance operational excellence; oversee lifecycle sustainment, risk reduction, obsolescence management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to align system-level requirements with mission objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- DOE Q-level security clearance or ability to obtain
- Experience leading large multidisciplinary technical organizations in a 24/7 operational environment
- Expert knowledge of leadership, management, and organizational development principles
- Extensive experience with complex laser, pulsed power, alignment, electro-mechanical, or similarly complex engineered systems
- Experience with safety systems, risk assessment, maintenance strategy, and quality assurance
