Job Summary
Receive and unload incoming hides from conveyances, then grade, sort, and trim hides to meet customer expectations. Load and unload hide brining tanks while monitoring salinity, and trans load Specified Risk Material as required. Maintain tools and equipment, perform pre-trip inspections, and load outbound trucks using mobile machinery. Adhere to strict cleanliness and safe operations protocols for material risk handling. Work shift-based schedules with overtime as instructed to minimize facility downtime. Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract; 1-2 years of hide plant experience is an asset. Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined spaces, heights, cold weather, odors, and proximity to animal by-products.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
- Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 100 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
- Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours and animal by-products
