Job Summary
Supervise and manage all jobs and contracts assigned while applying herbicides for weed, grass, and brush control across railroad locations. Perform daily tank mixing, conduct truck inspections, and manage maintenance and repairs of the truck and spray system. Calibrate all spray equipment and ensure work adheres to strict safety protocols. Maintain daily and weekly records and serve as the primary point of contact with customers, addressing complaints professionally and reporting potential liabilities immediately. Possess thorough knowledge of plant species, chemicals, and application methods. Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM, with shifts ranging from 10 to 12 hours; weekend or night work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21+ years of age
- A valid state drivers license with at least 5 years of clean driving history
- Willingness to travel away from home for up to 4-6 weeks at a time
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test, DOT physical, and background check
- Must adhere to the company's drug and alcohol policy
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator License is preferred
- Prior Hi-Rail/vegetation spray industry experience
