Job Summary
Collect clinical waste from healthcare facilities, including care homes and hospitals, by wheeling bins to the truck and operating the pick-up mechanism. Utilize a compaction vehicle for disposal and track collections via PDA, aiming for 35 to 60 daily shifts. Prepare the vehicle for operations and maintain physical fitness for heavy lifting. Requires full UK Class 2 licence, 6 months experience, and valid DCPC. Monday to Friday shifts starting 5am-9am, with occasional weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence with Class 2 entitlement (category C)
- At least 6 months of experience driving the relevant vehicle
- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card
- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only)
- Full understanding of WTD legislation
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Willingness to learn and adapt to our waste management processes
- Availability for early morning shifts and occasional weekend work
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
- Physical fitness and capability to handle waste containers
