Job Summary
Conduct general haulage using curtainside trailers between distribution centres and stores, handling collections and occasional cage loading/unloading. Perform all necessary vehicle checks, complete documentation, and report defects while adhering to driver hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation. Support trunking opportunities and maintain high safety and compliance standards. Work full-time nights from Thursday to Monday (23:00–02:00) with flexible shift patterns available. Earn £16.35–£18.96 per hour plus £5 per shift meal allowance and £25 per night out allowance. Hold a valid C+E licence, DCPC, and Tacho card with no more than 6 points.
Required Qualifications
- Valid C+E Licence
- Current valid DCPC & Tacho cards
- Understand and able to comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation
- Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly
- Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- No more than 6 points
- No DD/ DR Code convictions
- Minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
