Job Summary
The Health Benefits Unit Assessor assesses applications to determine eligibility for Alberta Child Health Benefit (ACHB), Alberta Adult Health Benefit (AAHB), Funeral Benefits, Residential Accessibility Modification Program (RAMP), Safer Spaces (Bill 204) Program, and CPAP requests. The role interprets complex legislation, policies and guidelines, conducts income/medical reviews, and provides guidance to clients on eligibility, procedures and processes. Responsibilities include preparing correspondence, liaising with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Service Alberta, Alberta Health, Alberta Blue Cross), handling high-volume client inquiries via telephone and email, and ensuring accurate application of program policies. Requires strong verbal/written communication, analytical abilities, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- four years of related experience
- Possess in-depth knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, policies, criteria, guidelines, processes and procedures for client funding and to determine eligibility and calculate assessments.
