Job Summary
Be the Spark! Join the YMCA of Greater Toronto Health and Fitness team for Canada Summer Jobs. Roles involve responding to member inquiries across channels, processing registrations and bookings, handling referrals and sales, reducing withdrawals and expiries, conducting tours and new member orientations, upselling programs (e.g., personal training, aquatics, day camp), maintaining accurate client accounts, and delivering high-quality sales and service with a member-focused, socially inclusive approach. Requires familiarity with YMCA programs and services, ability to meet personal and team sales targets, comfort with handling memberships and payments, and flexibility to work varied hours; CPR/First Aid and relevant software experience (VirtuaGym, FitLinxx, CLASS) are assets; candidates must meet Canada Summer Jobs criteria and be eligible to work in Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in sales, marketing, promotions, retail management, or related field or equivalent experience is an asset
- Minimum of 2 years sales and/or customer service experience, preferably in a membership/client based environment
- General Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills; familiarity with personal member and payment info; knowledge of privacy and protection requirements; ability to handle multiple priorities; CPR and First Aid or equivalent asset; proficiency with computer systems (e.g., CLASS, FitLinxx) is an asset; ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends; commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; ability to work in a socially inclusive environment; police records check required; Vulnerable Police Records Check every 3 years; must be legally entitled to work in Canada; YMCA values alignment
Additional Requirements
- Be between 16 to 30 years of age at the start of the employment; valid SIN; legally entitled to work in Canada; Canadian citizenship, permanent resident, or refugee protection conferred under IRPA for duration of employment
