Job Summary
Assist a certificated teacher in a preschool classroom, providing instruction and support in small groups or individually; tutor students, monitor and report progress, and help prepare and organize lessons. Administer and score tests, maintain student records, and communicate with parents. Utilize audio-visual equipment and educational tools; participate in trainings for state screening tools, environmental observation, and developmentally appropriate practices. Support includes overseeing labs, supervising meals and play, ensuring health and safety, adapting activities for children with special needs, and collecting data for federal reporting. Maintain professional conduct, participate in 18 hours of professional development annually, and collaborate with teachers to meet individual student needs. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with additional college credit (48 hours), CPR and First Aid certifications, and preference for CDA; prior experience with children in classroom settings preferred.
