Job Summary
Setup and operate kidney dialysis machines under RN supervision, verifying conductivity, dialysate pH, and temperature while monitoring water treatment systems. Check chlorine levels, log water hardness, and report readings exceeding 0.1 ppm. Monitor patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment, mixing bicarbonate dialysis and managing system bypasses when faults occur. Assist RNs in nursing care, draw blood specimens, and document treatments using the clinical information system. Requires Hemodialysis Technician certification, BCLS, one year of experience, and a high school diploma.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Hemodialysis Technician certification from an accredited school/agency (i.e. BONET, NNCC, etc)
- Minimum of one (1) year directly related experience
- BCLS certification
