Job Summary

Hem pants and footwear using various machine types, including surge hemming for special orders. Audit items prior to hemming by reading packing lists to verify requirements, lot numbers, and 9L options. Operate hemming machines correctly, measuring properly and changing thread, needle, and bobbin as needed. Follow all best safe practices while working. Perform daily overtime and work on Saturdays when necessary. This 1st shift role runs 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, supporting Workwear Outfitters' mission to empower workers across industries like automotive, manufacturing, and utilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Understanding of the different styles of fabrics needing to be hemmed
  • Ability and understanding of auditing the items prior to hemming
  • Ability to read a packing list in order to verify what items need to be hemmed
  • Understanding of what 9L options mean
  • Ability to verify where the lot number is on the packing slip
  • Understanding the value of hemming by priority for the customer
  • Understanding how to operate the hemming machine and measuring properly
  • Understanding what procedure to take if the hemming machine stops working
  • Understanding of how to change your thread, needle, and bobbin on the hem machine
  • Ability to follow all best safe practices while operating the hemming machine
