Job Summary
The Hematologist-Oncologist provides oncology and hematology care using evidence-based guidelines, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver treatment, educates patients and families about disease processes, tests, and goals of care, and participates in clinical research and the Oncology Service Line strategic planning. Responsibilities include coordinating with surgeons, radiation oncology, radiology, and pathology; ensuring thorough documentation and appropriate diagnosis coding; and communicating treatment plans with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Completed internal medicine residency program
- Hematology-oncology fellowship program
- Physician MD (or DO) licensure
- DEA Diversion Control Division registration
- Eligible to become an active member of Bayhealth Medical Staff
- Board eligibility in hematology and oncology
- Preferred: Board certified in hematology and oncology
