Job Summary
Provide inpatient and outpatient hematology and oncology coverage Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, managing 17 patients daily with dedicated time for new visits and follow-ups. Field questions from registered nurses regarding chemotherapy patients and handle minimal emergency department consults. Utilize access to dedicated pharmacists for educational starts and collaborate with co-located radiation oncology services within this Commission on Cancer-accredited cancer center. Participate in available phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials as part of the multidisciplinary care delivery. Call responsibilities include managing day-of-service chemotherapy patients and responding to nurse inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certification (negotiable)
- Inpatient and outpatient hematology and oncology coverage
- Managing 17 patients per day
- Fielding questions from registered nurses regarding patients who contact the practice with concerns
- Patients receiving chemotherapy on the day of service
- Consults from the emergency department
- Clinical trial participation, including phase 2 and phase 3 studies
