Job Summary
Hematology/Oncology Physician responsible for comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, medical management, and treatment of hematologic and oncologic conditions within the VA Providence Healthcare System. Primary duties include evaluating and managing hematology/oncology patients, admitting to appropriate inpatient care, performing histories and physicals, ordering and interpreting EKGs, imaging, and labs, conducting palliative care consultations, initiating and administering chemotherapy, assessing tumor imaging (CT/MRI/PET/nuclear imaging), measuring tumor mass, performing bone marrow aspiration/biopsy, and ordering therapeutic phlebotomy. Full-time schedule (Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.). Education requires an accredited fellowship in Hematology/Oncology and board eligibility in Hematology/Oncology. Required Qualifications
- MD or DO
- board eligibility in Hematology/Oncology (preferred)
- US medical license (active/unrestricted)
- citizenship or eligibility as US citizen or legally authorized to work in the US
