Job Summary

Hematology/Oncology Physician at VA Providence Healthcare System in Providence, RI provides evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, medical management, and treatment for hematologic and oncologic patients. Primary duties include inpatient admissions, comprehensive history and physicals, interpretation of EKGs, imaging, and labs, palliative care consultations, initiation and administration of chemotherapeutic agents, assessment of tumor imaging (CT/MRI/PET/nuclear imaging), serial tumor-mass measurements, bone marrow aspiration/biopsy, and therapeutic phlebotomy. Full-time schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Requires MD or DO and an active license; board certification or eligibility in Hematology/Oncology preferred. Education Debt Reduction Program eligibility may apply. Sign-on bonus or relocation incentive available. Applicant should submit CV and letter of interest.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state
  • board certification or board eligibility in Hematology/Oncology
  • successful completion of an accredited fellowship in Hematology/Oncology
  • Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) eligible may apply
