Job Summary
Hematology/Oncology physician responsibilities include evaluating, diagnosing, consulting, and medically managing hematology/oncology patients; inpatient admissions; performing history and physical exams; ordering/interpreting EKGs, imaging, and labs; conducting palliative care consultations; administering chemotherapeutic agents; assessing tumor imaging; performing bone marrow aspiration/biopsy; and arranging therapeutic phlebotomy. Schedule is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Location is Providence, RI within the VA Providence Healthcare System; requires MD/DO, U.S. license, and eligible board status in Hematology/Oncology. Required Qualifications
- MD or DO
- US citizenship or eligible to practice medicine in any state
- full, active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state
- board certification or board eligibility in Hematology/Oncology (preferred)
- accredited fellowship in Hematology/Oncology
- employment as physician in a VA Healthcare System or equivalent
- EDRP eligibility (preferred)
