Job Summary
Empty trash and recycling receptacles weighing up to 75 pounds into a truck approximately 300-500 times daily while operating the truck's packing mechanism and lever handles. Enter and exit the truck multiple times or ride on the back step to service 600-1000 stops, replacing receptacles neatly at the curb and cleaning up waste spills. Assist drivers in safely backing up the truck, unloading, and directing traffic from outside the vehicle. Professionally interact with internal and external customers while performing other duties as assigned. Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays with overtime availability.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to learn and understand truck mechanics
- Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
- Must be able to communicate in the English language well enough to understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training
- Must be able to read and speak the English language
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license (if applicable)
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs
- Must be able to push/pull 75 lbs
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs
- Ability to travel between offices, as required
- Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Waste industry experience preferred
