Job Summary
Helper on a waste-collection vehicle assists the Driver by loading waste, directing the Driver from the ground, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. Responsibilities include riding on the vehicle to service customers on a designated route, operating the packing mechanism and associated levers/handles to load waste, cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body, performing pre- and post-operation inspections, reporting safety issues, interacting courteously with customers and dispatchers, monitoring waste for unacceptable material, cleaning spills per safety standards, maintaining productivity, and following all safety policies. Additional related duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar position
- Experience in the Solid Waste Industry preferred
