Job Summary
Collect solid waste and recyclables from customer premises or curbside, loading materials into the rear or side of the collection vehicle. Sort recyclables into appropriate truck compartments, operate equipment to compact trash, and assist the driver in backing up and close-space maneuvering. Audit the vehicle for proper equipment before departure, report customer issues immediately, and identify prohibited waste items for removal. Maintain route quality standards, ensure personal protective equipment is worn, and assist with cleaning carts, the cab, and the warehouse while stacking pallets and operating compactors. Follow all safety checks, equipment precautions, and federal/state/local rules. Work outdoors 100% of the time in various weather conditions, lifting up to 65 pounds regularly.
Required Qualifications
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift in an outdoor environment 90% of the time
- Must be able to use hands and fingers, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, climb and balance
- Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to manually lift/move up to 65 pounds regularly
- Ability to manually push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance from another employee
- Ability to read, write, and communicate with others
- Ability to follow instructions and perform duties under limited supervision
- Ability to operate any equipment necessary to perform job
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training
- Valid driver's license
