Job Summary
Collect solid waste and recyclable materials from customer premises and curbside, loading them into the rear or side of the collection vehicle. Sort recyclables into appropriate truck compartments, operate equipment to compact trash, and assist the driver in safe backing and close-space maneuvering. Audit the vehicle for proper equipment before departure, report customer issues immediately, and tag or remove prohibited waste items. Maintain route quality standards, keep the cab and exterior clean, and attend safety and branch meetings while wearing required personal protective equipment. Work outdoors up to 100% of the time in varying weather conditions, lifting up to 65 pounds regularly, with no visa sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift in an outdoor environment 90% of the time
- Must be able to use hands and fingers, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, climb and balance
- Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to manually lift/move up to 65 pounds regularly
- Ability to manually push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance from another employee
- Ability to read, write, and communicate with others
- Ability to follow instructions and perform duties under limited supervision
- Ability to operate any equipment necessary to perform job
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training
- Valid driver's license
