Job Summary

Instruct flight students in the TH-1H Huey II helicopter at Fort Rucker, Alabama, covering academics, simulations, and flight training for contact, instruments, and remote operations. Provide day or night instruction for Combat Rescue, Special Operations, and Global Strike missions under challenging conditions, maintaining an unprecedented safety record. Requires previously qualified U.S. Air Force helicopter instructor pilot status with 200 hours of DOD military helicopter instructor time and 1,000 hours total DOD military helicopter time. Candidates must hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate, pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Compensation is $55.85 per hour under a 12-month Employee Training Agreement.

Required Qualifications

  • USAF military aviation experience
  • Previously qualified as a U.S. Air Force helicopter instructor pilot
  • Current in U.S. DOD military aircraft within the previous 4 years or within the previous 6 years if the candidate has performed 11 years of DOD military operational flying duty
  • 1,000 hours of total DOD military helicopter time
  • 200 hours of DOD military helicopter instructor time
  • Working knowledge with all USAF flight regulations
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
  • Must not exceed 250 pounds in flight duty uniform
  • Successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check
  • Complete training and a government acceptance checkride
