Job Summary
HEDIS Specialist coordinates identification, collection and abstraction of medical records for the HEDIS project under the HEDIS Program Manager, assisting with medical record review, vendor oversight, training abstractor staff, ensuring accuracy of abstracted records per HEDIS specs, participating in meetings with vendors and auditors, and supporting accreditation activities (e.g., NCQA reviews, CAHPS, state audits) while collaborating with the corporate HEDIS team on data collection and reporting for quality improvement studies.
Required Qualifications
- State Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Medical Record Technician with training in coding procedures
- 5+ years coding and medical record abstraction experience
- 5+ years managed care experience
- Basic knowledge of HEDIS and NCQA
- Licensed LVN/LPN, RHIT, or Certified Medical Record Technicians
