Job Summary
Hebrew Linguist role with Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (YSG) and The Unconventional (TU) supporting current and future foreign language and linguistic requirements across language support services, including interpretation, translation, transcription, and instruction in-person or virtually; open evergreen requisition for multiple opportunities within YSG/TU portfolio; supports government contract language needs and potential clients; remote/CONUS locations with some travel; potential for security-cleared work depending on CAT level.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at one of the categories: CAT I, CAT II, or CAT III with ILR English proficiency levels (ILR 2+ for CAT I and CAT II; ILR 3 for CAT III)
- CAT I: local hires allowed from outside AO, no security clearance required but will be security vetted
- CAT II: US citizens with security vetting; may have interim SECRET access for contract purposes
- CAT III: US citizens with TOP SECRET clearance with SCI access or interim TS with SCI access; ILR level 3 English; able to understand essentials of conversations and follow native speakers; capable of idiomatic translations; able to conduct consecutive interpretation
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Ability to conduct translation and interpretation across English and foreign language pairs
- Familiarity with local culture and customs; ability to work in harsh environments and under high pressure
- Ability to function as part of a highly trained professional team
- Speak English and foreign language fluently, including regionalisms and slang
- Preserve tone and register of source materials
- Willing to live/work in mission-driven environments
- Clearance requirements as specified by CAT I, II, III levels
- Travel may be required
