Job Summary
Conduct non-freight test driving of commercial motor vehicles, including manual transmission Class 6 and Class 8 tractor-trailers, to evaluate safety, performance, and durability under adverse conditions like severe winter weather and mountainous terrain. Execute approved durability test schedules, perform thorough pre- and post-trip safety inspections, and prepare detailed Driver Test Reports documenting vehicle handling and function. Operate vehicles safely while adhering to all company policies, FMCSA regulations, and DOT requirements. Travel periodically for over-the-road testing and vehicle transfers as needed. Requires an active Class A CDL, three years of tractor-trailer experience, and a clean driving record with no at-fault accidents in the past three years.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and active Class A CDL
- current DOT Medical Examiner's Card
- at least 3 years' tractor-trailer experience
- No at-fault accidents within the past 3 years
- No DUIs/DWIs within the past 5 years
- No major violations in the past 3 years
- No more than 2 miscellaneous tickets, citations, or violations within the past 3 years
- drug free and pass drug screening prior to employment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be flexible and available for travel as required or requested by the customer, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
