Responsibilities include servicing and repairing fire appliances and ancillary systems to NHVR/Transport Operations Act specifications, maintaining firefighting and pumping systems to manufacturer specs, using electronic diagnostic equipment and hand tools to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults, managing digital job sheets via the Fleet Maintenance System, and collaborating with the Workshop Supervisor to meet maintenance goals. The role requires participation in manufacturer training, and includes an after-hours rostered on-call service. Qualifications emphasize a current Medium Rigid license and Level 1 Heavy Vehicle motor mechanic certification. Required Qualifications
- Current Medium Rigid drivers' license (or ability to attain prior to appointment)
- Trade certification qualification - Level 1 Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle Stream)
- Skills, knowledge and/or qualifications in similar light vehicle trades considered with intent to update certifications
