Job Summary
Conduct non-freight test driving of commercial motor vehicles to support customer evaluations of safety, performance, and durability. Safely operate and evaluate medium and heavy vehicles, including Class 6 and Class 8 tractor-trailers, across diverse testing conditions to collect data and provide detailed feedback. Execute approved durability test schedules and prepare clear, concise Driver Test Reports documenting results and vehicle performance. Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, vehicle shuttling, and light maintenance as required. Operate safely in adverse conditions, including severe winter weather, extreme heat, and mountainous terrain. Maintain a clean driving record with no at-fault accidents in the past three years and possess an active Class A CDL with three years of tractor-trailer experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and active Class A CDL
- current DOT Medical Examiner's Card
- at least 3 years' tractor-trailer experience
- No at-fault accidents within the past 3 years
- No DUIs/DWIs within the past 5 years
- No major violations in the past 3 years (e.g., 20+ mph over speed limit, reckless driving, license suspension)
- No more than 2 miscellaneous tickets, citations, or violations within the past 3 years
- Safety Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug free and pass drug screening prior to employment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be flexible and available for travel as required or requested by the customer, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
