Job Summary
Heavy Truck Mechanic responsible for maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of a fleet including tractor trailers, triaxle dump trucks, pickup trucks, skid steers, paver, roller, grader, reclaimer, and other construction equipment. Must perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs; use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; ensure compliance with safety and FMCSA fleet maintenance regulations; maintain records of repairs and inspections; collaborate with operators and team members to identify issues and propose improvements; adhere to PPE and safety policies; travel up to 5% to service calls and offices throughout NY/NE; order parts as needed and stay current on industry trends. Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to lift heavy objects and work in varied conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in diesel mechanics, automotive repair, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic working with a fleet of trucks and trailers
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a NYS DOT medical card
- NYS inspection certification preferred
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
