Job Summary
Lead Heavy Maintenance Technician responsible for leading and executing petroleum fueling-system maintenance projects at commercial and retail sites. Responsibilities include performing heavy maintenance tasks (e.g., spill bucket, STP, containment sump, piping repairs/replacements), diagnosing system issues, mobilizing and managing jobs independently or with small crews, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental regulations, and company standards, coordinating with project managers, customers, and inspectors, maintaining documentation (daily reports, photos, material tracking), and identifying potential changes or scope gaps. Required skills include leadership in the field, ability to read construction drawings and schematics, strong troubleshooting, willingness to travel, and a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include certifications related to petroleum equipment or environmental compliance and OSHA training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in petroleum service, maintenance, or construction
- Strong working knowledge of fuel systems, including tanks, piping, and dispensing equipment
- Proven ability to perform heavy maintenance tasks independently from start to finish
- Demonstrated leadership experience in the field (lead technician or foreman level)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel as required
