Job Summary
Layout, read, and interpret blueprints and shop drawings. Operate heavy steel fabrication machinery including saws, punches, shears, beam splitters, and threaders. Load and unload materials manually or via overhead crane and magnet. Perform daily preventative maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Mark, stamp, and grind materials while locating parts and supplies. Transport material by crane as needed. Adhere to all safety rules and PPE requirements. Maintain an organized work area. Requires high school diploma or 12 months experience; assists HMO A's and B's with equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 12 months experience
- completion of a closely related vocational training course through an accredited school
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements
