Job Summary
Layout, read, and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and company documents. Operate heavy steel fabrication machinery including CNC machines, Plasma Arc, NC Punch Plasma, Beam Line Machines, and NC Angle Masters. Load and unload materials manually or via overhead crane and magnet. Perform daily preventative maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Properly mark, stamp, and grind materials while locating parts and supplies. Adhere strictly to all safety rules and PPE requirements. Requires high school diploma or GED with 12 months experience or vocational training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 12 months experience
- completion of a closely related vocational training course through an accredited school
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Equipment Knowledge & Skills – includes the operation of CNC machines and equipment such as Plasma Arc, NC Punch Plasma, Beam Line Machine, Beam Punch Operator and NC Angle Master
- Ability to operate machines under HMO B and C Classification
- Overhead cranes and forklifts
