Job Summary
Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment, compactors, excavators, and wheel loaders, focusing on engines, transmissions, chassis, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems. Perform preventative maintenance inspections and overhauls on gas or diesel engines while interpreting equipment condition reports and repair orders. Complete daily consumables reports for fuel and oil usage, document parts usage, and account for applied times in the fleet management software. Adhere to all safety policies, including OSHA Haz Com, Lock Out Tag Out, and Fire Protection regulations. Maintain advanced knowledge in air brakes, tires, and advanced electrical diagnostics to maximize safe and productive operations.

- Advanced knowledge in air brakes
- Advanced knowledge in tires
- Advanced knowledge in hydraulics
- Advanced knowledge in advanced electrical
- Advanced knowledge in advanced drive train
- Advanced knowledge in suspension
- Advanced knowledge in steering
- Advanced knowledge in wheel-end components
- Training as evidenced by ASE Certification
- At least 1 year of experience as a technician working on heavy equipment
- Minimum of 1 year of prior experience as a technician working on heavy equipment
- Demonstrating the ability to service increasingly more challenging maintenance repairs
- Mechanical Trade School certificate or degree
- Certificate in electrical diagnostics
- Applicable ASE certifications
- Working knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems
- Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience
- Knowledge and application of OSHA Haz Com
- Knowledge and application of OSHA Lock Out Tag Out
- Knowledge and application of all OSHA Fire Protection regulations
