Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport 3rd Year or Journeyperson

Job Summary
Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner. Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure. Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls on heavy trucks and transport machinery. Promote, execute, and adhere to the company's safety program, encouraging all employees and subcontractors to adopt safety as a culture. Work 10+ hours daily with overtime after 8-hour shifts or 44-hour weeks. This role supports Sureway Construction's civil earthworks, utilities, mine operation, and aggregate extraction projects. Candidates must be a 3rd-year or Journeyperson HET with engine rebuild and performance software experience.
Required Qualifications
- Full Complement of Hand Tools
- Personal Reliable Vehicle
- CSA approved steel toed boots with 6" ankle support
- Valid Driver's License
- Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements
- Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
- Fitness to Work Assessment
- Must be a 3rd year or Journeyperson HET – Truck and Transport (or 4th year HET)
- Engine Rebuild and Performance Software Experience is Required
- Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED
Desired Qualifications
- CVIP Certification is Beneficial
- Power Train Experience is Beneficial
- Experience with Electronics and Emissions is Beneficial
- Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
